General

  1. Can I read my ebook right away?
  2. Yes! naon ebooks are available instantly on purchase; with no wait time for shipping or other delays.
  3. What is an ebook?
  4. An ebook (short for electronic book) is an e-text that forms the digital media equivalent of a conventional printed book,often restricted with a digital rights management system. Our ebooks are electronic versions of the printed book which can be read on a personal computer that support Adobe's Flash Player.
  5. What can I do with my ebook?
  6. In addition to zoom, reading, and downloading, ebooks are fully searchable and users can annotate, bookmark, and highlight them. Users can search for terms in a single book, across their purchased titles, or across the full site.Users can also print a limited number of pages.

    eBooks that are PDF based identified by the Online reading symbol () on the bookshelf page can be printed. eBoooks that are ePub based identified by the Online reading symbol () on the bookshelf page cannot be printed.

  7. Can I print the eBook?
  8. The eBook is protected so that only 1 page can be printed at a time.

    The Print Option is available on the Top Right Hand corner of the reader.
    As per the NAON eBooks policy, you will be able to print the 50% of the eBook pages(one page at a time).
    eBooks that are PDF based identified by the Online reading symbol () on the bookshelf page can be printed. eBoooks that are ePub based identified by the Online reading symbol () on the bookshelf page cannot be printed.

  1. What is Adobe Flash Player? Is it safe to download?

  2. Adobe Flash Player is software for viewing animations and movies using computer programs such as a Web browser. 

    Adobe Flash is the authoring environment and Flash Player is the "virtual machine" used to run Flash files, but in colloquial language these have become mixed: "Flash" can mean the authoring environment, the player, or the application files.

    Flash Player is not only the most widely distributed piece of software on the Internet today, it's also one of the most secure. Given that Flash Player is in use by millions of internet users, Adobe invests considerable effort in keeping Flash Player safe and secure.

  3. What technology is required to view NAON e-books?

  4. Purchasing and reading our e-books online requires a live Internet connection and an Internet browser with the Adobe Flash Player plug-in installed. Flash Player is a cross-platform application that delivers rich content to over 99% of Internet users.

    Readers who have installed the iPublishCentral / iOffline reader on their computers will be able to read their e-books without an Internet connection after downloading the titles to which they are subscribed. The iOffline reader is built on Adobe AIR technology, which delivers the same user experience as reading our e-books online, but does not require a browser.


    Linux users:
    Though Adobe AIR can be installed on Linux operating systems, proper functioning of the iOffline reader is not guaranteed. 

  5. What format are the ebooks in? *IMPORTANT*
    1. NAON eBooks are encrypted files that can be accessed online through a browser on any PC/Mac. 
    2. You can download the eBooks using the iPublishCentral Reader(can be installed from the bookshelf page on the portal) on to your PC/Mac.
    3. You can download the eBooks on to an iPad/iPhone using NAON eBooks app
    4. eBooks subscribed through NAON eBook site cannot be downloaded as a file onto any devices and you cannot use a third party application to read these eBooks.
    5. NAON eBooks cannot be downloaded/copied on to a pen/thumb drive.
    6. NAON eBooks cannot be accessed on e-Ink based readers like Kindle/Nook/Kobo/Sony eReader etc
    7. eBooks subscribed through NAON eBookstore cannot be read on Apple iBooks or any other third party readers such as Stanza,Mobipocket Reader,Barnes and Noble eReader,The Microsoft Reader, Kindle for PC/Mac etc.

How-to Guide

  1. How do I add my personal notes throughout the ebook?
  2. Right click on content to which you want to add notes and choose 'add notes' from the option list. You can check for these notes in the 'My notes' segment in your 'My Folder' page.
  3. How do I bookmark a page?
  4. The top panel in the reader has the Bookmark option. Clicking on it will bookmark the page being currently viewed. You can check for the pages that have been bookmarked in the 'My Bookmarks' segment on 'My Folder' page.
  5. How do I download the ebook to my computer?

  6. Please install iPublishCentral Reader on your PC/Mac to download the ebooks offline.
    The iPublishCentral Reader is available for both Windows and Macintosh environments.
    • Once you login to the ebook site using your account, you will notice a button “Download iPublishCentral Reader”

    • Click on the download button to go to installation page. 
    • Click on install button to set up iPublishCentral reader on your system.

    • Copyright and version information screen is displayed.
    • The iPublishCentral Reader bookshelf is displayed. If the user is logging in for the first time, then a message "No books have been downloaded to the bookshelf" is displayed.

    • Click the Login button on the upper right corner of the screen.

    Log in as Normal user

    1. Select Normal User.
    2. Enter http://ebooks.orthonurse.org/ in the Site URL field.

    Use the online login credentials of the portal (http://ebooks.orthonurse.org/) to log in to iPublishCentral Reader.

    • Enter the username in the Username field
    • Enter the password in the Password field
    • Click the Sign In button
    • Bookshelf displays the subscribed ebooks with a Download option.
  7. How do I use the search option?
  8. Type a search term or phrase in the search text box and click on ‘Go’ to search the ebook content. Your search results will appear in a column on the right-hand side of the page. Specific search terms usually result in more targeted results.
    Note: The search option is disabled when viewing the book in the full-screen mode.
  9. How do I read my ebooks online?
  10. Simply go to the naon publishing website using your web browser, login, click on Bookshelf, select the book you wish to read and click "Read It."
  11. How to Redeem an Access Code if you have one?
  12. If you have an access code, follow the below instructions to redeem the access code on ebook site.
    • Once you log in to the eBook site, you will be redirected to 'Bookshelf' page. There you will find the 'Redeem Access Code' box.
    • Click on the Button, the access code box will open up.
    • Copy/Paste the access code in the given box and click 'Redeem' button.
    • Your relevant ebooks will be subscribed and placed on your bookshelf page to access.

    If you have a discount code follow the below instructions to apply the discount code on ebook site.:
    • Once you are logged into the ebooks site, choose your desired ebooks and click on "Price details". 
    • Click on "Buy". 
    • You will be directed to your show cart screen. 
    • Place the discount code that you have received through the promotion in the "Discount Code" field and click on "Use discount Code" button. 

    If you have an access code, follow the below instructions to redeem the access code on eBook site.
    Once you log in to the eBook site, you will be redirected to 'Bookshelf' page. There you will find the 'Redeem Access Code' box.
    Click on the Button, the access code box will open up.
    Copy/Paste the access code in the given box and click 'Redeem' button.
    Your relevant eBooks will be subscribed and placed on your bookshelf page to access.
